There are a ton of pictures of different rig builds and some threads have some great suggestions.

It all depends on what you plan to carry with you on the trailer. Some guys want pressure washing stuff and roof cleaning stuff on their rigs. I have one truck that only carries roof cleaning equipment and one truck that carries pressure washing and roof cleaning equipment. I also have a small trailer that has all pressure washing equipment on it.

Read through some of the equipment threads and see what interests you. Everyone has their own idea of what works best.

When you start to change the trailer over, post the pictures and ideas and you will get some great feedback. Guys love to help with builds, especially when they are not spending the money! biggrin

I have the pressure washer mounted in my cargo van. If I strip all of the paint off of the trailer and have it powder coated, would it hold up to the love?

In the spring I'm going to have my trailer sprayed with Linex/Rhino Lining. It holds up well from what others have told me.

The chems wreck havoc on electrical connections no matter how much you rinse. Keep an eye on them.

I had my trailer sprayed with a liner in the beginning of the spring, and so far (5 months later) it looks great. I would highly recommend having it sprayed.

How big is your trailer and what did they charge you to spray it? Most trucks are around $5-$600 to have done. Did you go with one of the franchises (lineX or Rhino) or did you use one of the cheaper companies?

Hey Brian,

The trailer is 6'x10'x2' up the sides. I actually had it done for free by my brother who works in a welding shop where they use this lining as an undercoating on some of the products they make. However I did call and had estimates for both Rhino Liner and Line X, they both came in at $1200. Even at that price I feel it would be well worth it. I did read somewhere that somebody had a problem with it rusting under the liner, I've been checking mine and it appears to be fine. I'm thinking of having the outside done also.

OMG $1,200 is crazy! They hardly have to do any of the prep that they do on a truck. I looked into "Qwik Liners" pretty heavily for my automotive business and it would have cost 1/3 of that price. The difference in the products is that the "Qwik Liner" is harder than the Rhino/LineX so things can slide a little more than those liners, but the protection is about the same. I just didn't have the dedicated space needed to be able to off the liners to the public. It really does require a whole dedicated bay and a lot of protective shields to keep the shop from becoming one big liner.

Keep us updated on the status of the trailer. I think I'm going to order a sample of the "Qwik Liner" in the spring and give it a try. The sample comes with all of the spray equipment and enough to perform one full truck. I'll post the results if I go that route.

I forgot to mention $200 of that was for sandblasting, not that it makes a big difference. One thing I did is placed a thick rubber mat under the tanks so they would not constantly rub the liner. That worked out great, I just took everything out two weeks ago and checked for wear and it looked good under the tank.
