10 roofs in one day? How do you do it Dan? Tell us your secret! Are they all on the same street?

I'm almost 50 years old and my limit is two/day. Do you have young lads climing the ladder?

Operation Crusty Neck. I like it! Good luck to you and your 10 roofs in a day. However, quality comes before quantity.

If I remember correctly, they were not full roof cleanings. He was just doing the stained/front sections of the roof and most were ranchers. I could easily do 10 in one day, in one location, with one truck by doing partial cleanings.

I  must be to picky, 10 a day in 12 hours,,,, hummmm lets see , i have to unroll  setup, water down, talk to home owner, then when finish , unbag roll up , then give invoice to home owner in which I walk around property explaining in detail everything we did  , this takes up to 15 minutes so , say  15 minutes to unroll, 15 minutes to bag, 15 min to irrigate 30 minutes to spray, 15 minutes to roll up , 15 minutes to unbag, 15 minutes to talk to home owner, thats about 2 hours right there, sooooooo i say it cant be done, not taking care of your customer the right way

biggrin

This appears to be a sensitive thread... So I just want to say good luck Dan.

Make sure your customers feel like they're your number one priority. Take your time with them, speak clearly at and at a moderate pace.

Walk, don't run. (like when you're at the public swimming pool and the lifeguard warns you about getting hurt) It's ok to be in a hurry, but be careful. Ladders, roofs and chemicals are all hazardous by them selves not to mention combining them all in one job. Accidents happen, that's why they call them "accidents".

Run anytime no one is looking, scope out any trampolines for quick roof egress, keep the motor running, have the your ground guy though everything in the back of the truck neatly so it will come out easier when you get to the next job. (just kidding about the trampolines)

If 10 is your motivation and you can pull it off and still come off as a professional, Great! Your 10 might be someone else's 4 or 5. We are all not as young as we used to be. Best of luck Dan, just make sure you and your ground guy are watching out for each other, and the customer's property...

The most I have ever done was 9 in one day cleaning roofs in Providence Lakes in Brandon, FL. I started at 6 am, was done dusk, just barely finished the 9th one! All the roofs in Providence Lakes were filthy, no gifts. We were using the big John Blue PP 193 roof cleaning pump, 19.5 GPM at 250 PSI that I abandoned due to longevity issues. I literally went from roof to roof cleaning. The houses in Providence Lakes are about 1800 to 2200 sq ft, and a lot of grey and light grey roofs, so you know what that means!

10 in 1 day is a lot for 1 truck unless they are all next to each other. We have recently did 42 in 1 day with 3 trucks and 9 guys in the same development and a lot of them where only 1 side. Each truck had one guy who takes care of customer, one guy moves ladders and hoses and watering and one guy on roof. The guy taking care of customer helps with water and all. It was a good day. They went from 9-5. And yes it was a deal for all them to get them done together in 1 day.

I did it by myself ( and a ground helper of course) in one truck, this little bastard.
Later, I built the big Box Truck with dual pumps, reels, hoses, ladders,  all sucking from one 600 gal tank.

5 in one day was all i ever did and thats all i wanna do also each house was a house wash on top of it. I clean the whole roof so i will not be able to do ten in one day without being professional unless i had another crew. still had a 3500 day with just 5 roofs and 5 house washes all the same houses.

Dan, if you can drum up 12 jobs at will, you should have a million dollar business by now. And you need to teach everyone else how to do it!!

I don't think I believe you do 10 houses a day either Dan? I asked you several times to take me with you, and that I even told you I would help you for free, and you continue to blow me off? I just wanted to learn from you and be a witness that you really are capable of cleaning 10 houses a day.

I will still be available to go this Saturday with you. Let me see you in action and I will personally post your results, because their is not one single person here believes you except me.

Bruce from shingle magician I laughed when I read your post. I am turning 48 soon and this whole summer I said " I gotta stop doing three a day...it's killing me".
