Although there was plenty of landscaping (including some large rose bushes), the job ran  very smooth.  The house had gutters, we used tarps, and did heavy pre and post rinsing.  The roof came out nice and the customers were happy.

You say heavy pre and post rinsing and tarps?  So you water down plants, cover with tarp, do job, then wet after removing tarps?  Just curious.

That's what we did on this job.  We do not always use tarps when there are gutters.  But regardless, we always soak the ground before, during, and after application of the SH mix.  We always tarp when there are no gutters.
