A combined effort by multiple RCIA members could really shine some light on the safety that most take for granted. It could be good for all the RCIA members in the area there. I'm almost certain that there are multiple news agencies that would be interested in running a story on RCIA members interested in promoting safety.

I put a link on my home page. Let HO know the dangers, let the pros do it.

No doubt!  I'm sure everyone has been there.  Roofs are dangerous, they shouldn't be taken lightly.

These comments have me wondering if I want to be affiliated with the RCIA any longer.  The kid just fell TODAY.

The idea of profiteering due to someone's misfortune doesn't set too well with me.

And as was recently (obviously) pointed out, customers read this forum.  Think long and hard folks.  If the mighty dollar means that much to you, you may have some soul searching to do.

Flame me now.  I really don't care.  Shame on you.

Have you ever been to a hospital or doctors office.  All they do is profit from your misfortune??

We all profit from the unfortunate customers who have infested roofs.

In business every opportunity should be ceased.  I don't think anyone here wants to exploit the kid.  It opens a door for the fire hall to hire a pro instead of sending a kid up there.  If no pro appears to them, they will probably just send a kid up there again next year.  Shame on that fire hall.

We have this problem with my local fire hall all the time.  They send out volunteers to my house who take my money and then do my work themselves, cause damage and spend my money on the repairs.  Happens over and over again.  Personally I saw this as a chance for this fire hall to learn.  It seems most of them in MD are DIY and people get hurt volunteering for them all the time.  This is a chance to change that at this particular hall.  I bet you any money if they don't get a pitch they will send an adult up there next time.  But they won't use any safety equipment.  I see it all the time.

I don't think showing customers the consequences of doing things haphazardly is a bad thing.  I also don't think anyone is going to 'flame' you for caring about people.

I'll presume you meant 'seized' vs ceased.

The roof of the fire house was flat.  The kid was doing community service - maybe part of a court order or fine?  Perhaps he's getting his Eagle Scout, heck I don't know.  Flat roof, kid falls.  All I can tell you is if I were the Fire Chief there and some guy showed up that same evening wanting to pitch his services and talk to me about roof safety, he'd get promptly asked to leave.  And I doubt if I'd be polite about it.

Let's agree to disagree.  And please don't let the number of posts one has on a forum of any kind lead to any assumptions about business expertise or experience.

Hey Hoover - you know what a 'me too hound' is?
