Even a big Air Diapraghm Pump will work with a smaller compressor, they just will not deliver their rated  GPM until you have enough CFM.

My 1 inch Yamada will deliver 49 GPM, but it takes 27 CFM of air to do it! This is an Auto Repair Shop size compressor

But the big ONE INCH YAMADA will still deliver  plenty of GPM with a 5 hp air compressor rated at 12 cfm, and just loaf doing it too. In fact, you can use ANY air diapraghm pump with smaller compressors, you just will not get the rated GPM out of them.  The pressure works this way - Pressure IN ='s Pressure OUT.

If your air compressor makes 100 PSI, then that will be your spraying pressure.

You must be careful to see how much CFM is delivered at what pressure ?

This is what seperates a great air compressor from a not so great one.

You will see cheap compressors rated at 10 CFM, but at only 45 psi, then at 100 psi this same compressor drops to only 4 CFM !

I've used the 12V Flojet 4.9gpm @ 40psi from Northerntool back before the Delavans came out.

It's a good pump, better than Shurflo's, but weaker than Delavans.

Have not tried the flojet air pumps.

Well, I sure don't want to be accused of bad mouthing anything Bob sells, so this places me in an uncomfortable position. But from a purely theoretical point of view, here is how I see it. The FloJet air diapraghm pump is very attractively priced! Basically, it is 2 pumps placed together, to acheive the desired flow. This mean 4 diapraghms are doing the work of 2 vs the Yamada and All Flow. Just as a bigger woofer makes more bass, a larger diapraghm makes more flow, all things being EQUAL. It is real simple Bore times Stroke equals Displacement. Air and Liquids are BOTH Fluids, so the same rules apply. Now, when we have a small bore(diapraghm), to make it displace as much as a larger one, we need to increase it's Stroke!

This means the diapraghm must travel more then a larger one, to displace the same amount of Fluid. So, in an absolute sense, a Larger air diapraghm pump is "better", since the larger diapraghm moves less.

This is the THEORY guys, but do not underestimate FloJet ! They are a huge company, and their pumps were computer modeled for long life. And remember, a small block Chevvy has a shorter stroke then a Big Block, yet lasts a longer time!

In the final analysis, I think it all depends on WHO you feel comfortable buying from. Bob has been known to have a few mistakes that were not his fault in the past, but has Always taken care of his customers. That has got to mean something. For years, in Seattle, I always bought Subaru's, just because of the great service from my local Subaru Dealer! I don't think you can go "wrong" with any of the 3 pumps, and what is better is a matter of opinion. I drive a new Ford F 150, so it is "the best"

My friend drives a new Silverado, so it is "the best".  I could be happy with any of the 3 pumps mentioned, as far as Poly Pumps goes. Now Kevlar, that is better, but bring your checkbook. The 1/2 inch Kevlar yamadas I use are 700 dollar pumps
