I need some help on selecting right size tank or tanks from some members .
do these tanks need to be dot certified ,, will I get a ticket for driving around with most of these listed on the different web sites. . As I live in a police state ...
I found something call a transport tank - 75 gallon tank, with no drain ---- " a no brainer maybe ??" but, they are out of stock ,,, I think it is a pretty cool place for all here the place is called TankSuperstore.com They have a cool thing, about save on freight, as they can ship from 7 seven different locations , so they can ship from the clostest point to your place of choice..... saving on freight charges.
Here is my very first question ,, and yes I did read ,,, and read Dave's post long post ,, Dave it was great and I enjoy all of your post .
Should I buy plastic Horizonal storage tank ,,,,,,,,, without a drainage plug ??? is there anything wrong with using a vertical one, and what are the advantages and disavantages of each ,,, can one save you / us space,,,,
If I could ,, should us newbies get a yellow one,, to diffuse sunlight, to keep the chems longer from job to job ,,, or how easy is it to mix chems on site ,,, or does this draw too much attention and then I would have to break out my data saftey sheet, and be tide up all day with the state employee, or city inspector....
I read here to be careful about buying one with a drainage plug as the chems might and will eat out the seals of these plugs ..... I tried to get one without one but it seems they are not in stock and will take about two weeks order time.
Can you guys please help me pick the correct size tank with the proper gallonage ,,, the average roof located here is between 1400 - 2000 sq ft , so how much product is used on a 1600 square ft roof with a 6 on 12 pitch .
I have a pretty decent client base ,,, I could see myself doing two - three roofs in one day,,, by this I mean I will line all of the Jobs we get, and schedule them all in the same day, and that will be my whole week of cleaning,,, as it will take time to build up this part of my business to have roof cleaning everyday,,, marketing marketing marketing,,,
The roofs here are about 14 - 20 square per roof
and they are for the most part a 6 on 12 or greater pitch ...............
so with that in mind I looking at a tank anywhere from 75- 125 gallon tanks.....
members how big is tooo big of a tank,,, do members outbuy themselves ,,,
what do you think Chris Tucker ?? I just want to thank you for all the time you put into this site, as well as Dave ,,, and Mr Boozeand the many others, all of you on here are just great....
Guys I need help in trying to estimate how much product / mix is used on a 1600 square roof ,,,as I will use this as my gauge so I can fiqure , estimate of what size tank I should buy ,,, and how big is tooo big a tank ,,, and is it ok to mix on site, any and all input will be great.
Does anybody know about baffles,,, are they required to travel on an interstate,,, I go on different interstates and the cops are just going after contractors left and right and giving them tickets for anything they can, ,,, knowing that the contractor is just going to pay the tickets and not contest them ,,, as the cops know this is the busy season for the contractors and they will just pay them ............ are baffles require, I am going to try to research this in a drivers manual .... any past CDL truckers out there ???
Just a Side issue just for laughs and something to think about,,,, I don't go to my local town hall to buy love ,, I don't go there to buy apple cider,,, I don't go there to buy candy,, roses,,, food , cars ect ,,, so people are not cutting back on their commerce with the local town halls ,,, people are not cutting their budget back with purchases with the local town hall,, people are not going somewhere else because their prices are to high ,,, or there is a better place to go do commerce with ,, in short they don't sell a dam thing,, and it is business as usual . ,,, so how the--- f --are the politicians saying and blaming the economy and they are cutting back on services such are cops and firefighters and teachers ,,, scammmmmmmmmmmmm ,, what the heck ???
Anyway how many tanks
Second question that I need help with , to correctly set my truck up and be a success with and for RCIA
RCIA members How many tanks are You Guys using
and what is each tank used for ,,,
Rain
A question has anybody ,,,, ever tried to make rain and does it cost tooo much ,,,
what I mean ,,, did anybody ever tried to make a batch of rain ,, for example say that it has not rained in awhile, and it seems like it is not going to rain for a week or two,,, according to the long term forcast ,, Has anybody just thought try to make a batch of rinse that will have the ph balance of rain............... just a stupid question ?????
What do you think Chris ,, and Dave I know that you have thought of this one already have you tried it ,,, or you don't have that problem,, as where the both of you are located where it rains often ... has anybody tried this ???? where sometimes it does not rain for a few weeks....... and the Home owner want to see that final result ,,,, and does this stuff crystallize over time ... yes it will dissolve, but has anybody had a situation where they had an application then it does not rain for a while.
Dear Chris Tucker and Dave ,,, I have enjoyed reading all of the post I have read to Date ...
I have a pretty large truck laying around that I can use,,,,,,,,,
A Ford F350 dully rack body truck with a twelve foot bed ....
so I do have a good amount of room to start with .....
Most of us use 2 tanks. 1 for pure SH and 1 for making mix. A few run 3 tanks one for just water. This way you can make whatever mix you need when you need it.
As far as size goes... I run two 60 gallons on my micro-rig. Its fine for what we do. Average house in my area takes 40-50 gallons of mix. I think most run 120 gallon tanks, and a few run bigger. Chris has 2 300's on his rig.
You'll have to check your state for safety standards. But I don't think I've heard of anyone using baffled tanks.

I'm pricing some small trailers right now, a 5 x 8 sounds like a great choice. Plus your set-up is pretty well thought out.

It is a chemical hazard placard required by the federal DOT. You will also need a special stamp on your license for carrying hazardous bulk chemicals. Also if your vehicle is over 10k lb you will need a DOT number.
