Hi everyone. Please forgive me but I really couldn't find the right answer. I been reading and reading but everytime I come across the mixture for Apple Cider / sauce they are all some what different.

I been using a out of the jar cleaner for awhile now and I would realy like to use this Apple stuff. I see some have alchol in them and some don't.

I have a roof to do next week and would really like to kick this off right. I would rather not use the alchol if I don't have to. Mainly I guess because the local stores only have this in 16 oz. jars, oh well. @ 70% or 90% not sure which one to use.

also SH is bleach right ? is this the same bleach I would use to clean my socks.

Thanks guys, and sorry to sound so wet behind the ears..

Not sure Im at liberty to give advice yet being im new at this as well but the few roofs we've done we have used a 40 - 60 % ( 12.5% chlorine - water ) with ammonxy lo ( like a dawn soap ). Our roof's have turned out great. Make sure you have a good ground guy to handle the run off . Sorry if I stepped out of place helping out a new guy. And about the alcohol I belive it is to help speed up the cleaning process ??? don't mark my words im not to sure..

No not at all. Thank you. The more heads the better right.. But when you say 12.5% chlorine. Do you mean bleach ? This is the part that's kicking my butt.

Do you use the alcohol as well ?

Thanks again..

He means Sodium Hypochlorite at 12 to 15% solution.
You can buy this from places that sell bulk chlorine to pool suppliers or to water treatment plants.

I get mine from the same place that supplies water treatment facilities, it's 15% and always super fresh. (read: hot)

Standard brand name bleach is only 3% and in some cases has other additives. We DO NOT use buy off the shelf "Clorox".
In a pinch you can use 1 gallon pool chlorine purchase at a pool supply but the price would be prohibitive long term.

Thanks you guys. I did run down to the local pool supply to see if they had SH. I bought 4 gallons of SH 12.5% for $20.00 bucks. Does that seem right ? or did I get ripped.

If the average roof uses 35-40 gallons does anyone have the mixture combo for that. I did see mix's for that but I'm just not sure.. Thanks again, you been a big help.

Oh yea, I went to Home Depot looking for TSP but they only have a liquid concentrate. Is that right.. You guys must be talking about powder, right ?

Yes, you absolutely overpaid. I typically see prices from the $1.30 to @2.50 per gallon of SH. Google Sodium Hypochlorite distributors (both local and none local). Call 3 or 4 places and get them into a bidding war. The more educated you are going into this, the better. From what I'm reading 30-40 gallons per roof of Cider Mix may not be enough (of course that is contingent on your experience, methods used, and size of roof). Keep reading, you will definitely get there with the experience of the cleaners on this site.

man we are so spoiled down here with $1/gal SH.

Anyway, I have only used tsp once and think it is a waste of money and time.

Did 2 tile roofs next to each other, one with tsp, one with detergent. came out exactly the same, with the same amount of time on the roof.

WOW a buck.. I made some calls and found it in 55 gallon drums for $2.25 so far. So what are you saying, you don't have to use TSP, I can use something like a power detergent ie. Borax or tide..

Thanks again for all you help.

If I used that much SH in my mix I'd kill people more less plants, lol
We typically mix 1 part SH with 3 parts water. Our SH must be much stronger.

And read, read, read about TSP and tile roofs, to much TSP will take off the gloss and that'll be a mess with the homeowner.

Oh was someone talking specifially about tile roofs if so; i missed that, my  bad
this is the correct mix and yes Fl people get hotter sh , but this is the correct formula, you will have to play with it to get what you like but it a great starting point and works just fine for us   I  too use 30 gals of h20 to 15 sh if: its light stain
and I have yet to clean a tile roof ...
you will figure it out

search TSP if you want to find a place to purchase at a good price!!!!

You guys are the best. Thank you so so much. Hey I was playing around on northern tools.com yesterday and came across this. I mean to me it would seem like a great tool for roof cleaning but for one I don't know if it can hold up to the SH Sprayer I did send a email asking if it could, but haven't heard back just yet.

I guess that "could" work. But I seriously doubt that comet pump will hold up to the SH for very long and not sure how much to replace or rebuild it.

You can put together a 12v rig for less and if you want a lower priced gas powered option check into Pressure Tek's Bobcat pump. Not sure exactly what the bobcat runs but it will handle the SH better than most. It uses the same pump head as the 12v Delevans.

I built a 12v rig recently for under $1,000.

Hi Dom, nice website. Please only use my pics until you have your own. I would be careful with the roof shampooing name as there is a franchise called roof shampoo that pressure washes roofs. I noticed you used the term roof shampoo in your site and if these guys see that they will send you a cease order and threaten legal action. Gotta watch out for that kinda crap bro.
