Like almost everyone else, I had the relay problem with my FatBoy.  I switched out the relay, increased nozzle size, adjusted the pressure screw correctly, and it's been running flawlessly ever since.  The Fatboy works perfectly for the roof cleaning I do.  I don't clean roofs everyday, but I do clean 2-3 roofs in a day.  Anyone that runs the FatBoy just needs to make sure they follow the guidelines posted on this forum.  Improper nozzle size or wiring leads to relay problems, which leads to people getting frustrated with this pump.

some people are just gifted to fix up their stuff on the road and others have to call a dealer or something for help with it. If you can't figure out how to jimmy it or make it work you better go with a all flow. I run a 2gpm delevan and don't need a ground guy and rarely need to bag gutters I average between 10 and 15 gal of mix per job

I agree with you Chet.  It is not necessary to shoot a lot of mix on a roof to get the job done.  If you have a lot of roofs to clean maybe so, but with shooting a lot of chemicals on the roof comes other problems.

The only problem I have had with my Fatboy in 2 years is the relay. I replaced it with a relay from NAPA parts store with no problems.

I know a few guys that use the 2gpm Delavan pumps for roof cleaning and they like the flow, they like to take their time and they do great jobs!

It is all about personal preference for the gpm's you want for the job.

I have the Bandit roller pump but I use a smaller nozzle to slow down the flow and that helps with the runoff a lot. Here most houses don't have rain gutters so I have to watch the runoff and make sure that the helper is watering everything good.

It don't matter what pump you use, Delavan, Shurflow, Flojet, or Air Diapraghm. It is the man using the pump.
