Rust on wood shake siding

I've got a job coming up where the house has wood siding that has rust stains. I was planning on using Super Iron Out on the rust stains. My concern is that the siding is treated with an oil-based stain. Does anyone know how this will affect the wood or the oil-based stain in the wood?

Definently some good advice!I screwed up one time and didnt do a test sample. I used the olympic deck cleaner which had oxalic acid as the main ingredient. It said to leave it on there for 30 min so I did. All I can say is BAD MISTAKE!! It made the singles white! But hey, I learned my lesson and it will never happen again...

You would have to lighten All of the wood, or at least on one side. Not sure what would happen to the stain. Test spot!
