today i did my first roof. it was a bad one. i sprayed 50 gals of cider sauce. alot turned white but some of it looks a light green. does this still mean it is dying? i sprayed it on am im going to go spray off tomorrow because its not going to rain until next week. my question is will rinsing clean it up? or from the pictures am i going to need to reshoot with cider sauce. Thank you for the help.

Tell us your exact mix, and we can help you more.

Good gracious!  That was a nasty roof!  Very extreme for a first roof cleaning job.

The rain will do a better job than if you tried to rinse it yourself.

How many square feet is this roof?

thank you for the replies. it was 1100 sq. so it looks the same on the back. i use about a 50 gal mix.

the mix was:
19 gal of sh
about 33 gal of water
5 lbs of tsp
64 oz isopropyl alcohol
17 oz of ajax.

i put the tsp in hot water before adding to the mix. i mixed the alcohol and ajax when i got to the job. i didnt use hot water though, will that make a huge difference? i was a crazy first job. but i having some fun with it. everything seemed to be turning white but after awhile it was turning back to a little green. the last picture is what it looked like when i was cleaning up. i hit that side of the house twice. should i just have confidence that the rain will work its magic, then see if i need to do more work on it?

I'm not certified,in fact,I haven't done one roof yet,but I m still reading a lot on here and, looking at that roof,I'd say it'll at least need two coats.Dude, that is one rough and wicked roof.Congrats on getting the job though.I hope one of the more professionals chime in to help you on this. But look at the Love foaming and eating that algae up!

maybe hit a couple of the lighter green spots again and then let the rain do its work i would give its a good couple of rains if you rinse it will take a lot of time well thats what i would do good luck.

once it turns white its basically dieing or very weak it will just start to crumble up and fall of. when you check it tomorrow you will see how easy it falls off.

This mix would work fine for an average roof.  You're a little too light on the ajax for an average mix.  I'd use at least 1/2 ounce / gallon

But this roof is not average, it is very extreme, so you need to go heavy on the ingredients.

50 gallons should have covered it well with two coats, waiting 20 minutes between coats.

20 gallons of SH
30 gallons of water
8 lbs of TSP
96 oz ISO
56 oz of ajax or dawn

This mix probably would have worked better.

Yes, hot water helps this time of year when it's colder.

Wait for a good rain before going back.

Since you put 2 coats of cider on the roof, I would question if your SH was fresh.

Did one just like this. Curious to see how yours turns out after the rain. Mine came out basically the same way and Im also wondering if I should have upped the Chems on a roof with lots of lichen, moss.

Wow I  would have loved to  done that roof,  this is what  I  would do, I  would not rinse and let mother nature do her part of the job, after a good rain , look and adjust. i  would say if you have to reshoot this ,it  wont take much at all to  get her looking great... trust  the love Roof cleaner....

I'm having the same problem on a badly stained steep roof.
Roof looks great except for scattered white spots.
After cleaning I noticed these areas and hit them again before leaving.
It has rained and I have rinsed them twice.
It is killing me. I want it to look good. I need the pictures and to get paid.
Never had this problem.
