Actually you will find that ceramic is an A rating against SH. No one here has had a problem as far as I know. In Florida they have been cleaning Tiles this way for over 20yrs. I am sure we can get a couple Veteran tile cleaners to back this up for you. What will break them and make them brittle is lugging a pressure washer up there, lol. There is a pic of that around here somewhere. Some people actually take the machine on the roof!!! Talk about lack of consideration towards ones actions!!

My first year in business we took one out on a water dock.....too bad it can't swim!! lol. We learned real fast not to move the machine to save hose labor!!

haha yeh thats the one i was thinking of...that would near break someones skull if it fell off the roof

SH will not jeapordize the integrity of a tile roof. Think about it. Most tile is nothing more than color pigmented concrete. We have been cleaning tile roofs with SH for 20 years and have never had a problem.

The answer is YES, sometimes!
You can DULL the finish on some tiles with too STRONG a roof cleaning chemical solution!

We PREACH, and  Practice cleaning with relatively weak solutions.
Far better we think to touch up a spot or two, then to make a smoking hot roof cleaning chemical that cleans perfectly the first pass, then kills plants, or dulls the tile finish!

STRONG roof cleaning solutions cann dull, and strip paint on houses too!

Chris hit the nail on the head once again. Anything with a sheen you really need to start weak and work ur way up in chemical strength.
I know of a job that a guy tested the job with weak chemical, got the job, mixed new chemical to complete the job and totally smoked this guys tile to the tune of 10 G's.
Insurance wouldn't cover it either because it was operator error. Be careful especially on a hot sunny day.

YES YES YES !!
The Hotter the day, the better the chemical works.
We have even cleaned tile roofs with shingle strength chemicals, on hot, sunny days.
Remember Guys, it is NO Sin to have to wait a little longer for roof cleaning chemicals to work, or go back and touch up a spot or two, while you are still there ?
SLOW DOWN when you clean roofs.
Let other neighbors have a chance to see you ?

Despite what other "roof cleaning information" is floating around the Internet that says it is ok to use strong roof cleaning solutions.
I have been there, and done that, and come back in 4 to 5 years to the same roofs.
Guess What ?
SEVERE Granule Loss, that is what!

Save yourself some money, and your customers property/landscape.
Work on the weaker side of the chemical, your Lungs and your customers plants will thank you.

Now, on steep roofs, I can see going a bit stronger, you may only get ONE shot at them ?
And white tile, or light colored roofs are a PITA sometimes.
