Hey everyone. Just when I thought things were going good, did a couple of training roofs, did a few paying jobs, things were looking good. And then, I blew out the tendon in my ankle. Great. Had one surgery, didn't work. I just had a second surgery a few weeks ago. Now, I can't even walk until October. I've had to train my son, who was my ground person, how to do the roof. That was a little hard, since I couldn't even walk. But, it worked o.k. He went and did a couple of small jobs. I have a few houses that are willing to wait until I am up and around to have theirs done.
Seems to be that the very few companies around here that clean roofs are doing it in a way that takes 2-3 months for the roofs to come clean. And they won't do roofs they can't walk on. That's helping me alot.. So, for the time being, I am all over the internet learning whatever I can.
I had a set back in May when I fell off a roof and busted up seven ribs. I'm all heeled and back at it again. You'll be as good as new before you know it. Not to mention this is a great opportunity to give your boy some practice spraying roofs.
Get well soon! Make sure you consider therapeutic (medical) massage as a supplement to your PT and rehab. You'll be back on the gutter line in no time! Good luck :)
That massage stuff is great. I had that the first time this tendon blew out last June. They tried to fix it with just the massage. Didn't work, but it felt great.
