Hey Brian...I'll let you know when I am fighting.....and I will do it where I choose to. I dont think this topic turned destructive,I think it shed light on what has happened to this forum. Who's in charge and where is it headed. So you like getting and giving information on here thats great. But you have decided it's ok to go against the RCIA way. Let me explain.....I also last year only used sh and water....worked great. But adding Dawn has reallly improved it and Dawn is part of the RCIA way. So you got a guy coming on here says what he wants, then you got a guy who's been waiting, helping and learning all winter long,{ NOT SINCE THIS APRIL }who steps up to the plate for RCIA and a RCIA " Higher Up " agrees with the guy and leaves our guy hanging. I don't think I like or appreciate that......if thats "fighting " to you I'm worried! And another thing....get your numbers up?......you think I need numbers or a title to know I can clean a roof. Heres my verbal exam.....I mix water and Sh together....I add Dawn and alcohol.....I spray it on the roof....CASE CLOSED!I said it before, this site is shot........they left the flood gates open! Sorry Vinny.....nobodys got your back on here!

That 17 gal was a baaaad azz machine...I put a 0030 tip on it and actually took down a couple of dead branches out of an oak tree...I am not joking either.

QUESTION?
I'M A NEWBY TOO.

WHEN YOU USE BLEACH, IF IT GETS ONTO VINYL SIDING WILL IT DISCOLOR IT? THERE'S ALOT OF VINYL HOMES HERE IN SC AND I'VE SEEN WHERE A HOMEOWNER PRESSURED WASHED THEIR HOME WITH BLEACH AND IT DISCOLORED THE SIDING.
I KNOW WE'RE TALKING ABOUT TREATING THE ROOF BUT IF IT RAINS AND SOME OF THE TREATMENT WASHES ONTO THE VINYL SIDING. I'D LOVE TO GET INTO THIS BUSINESS, BUT I DON'T WANT TO RE-SIDE A HOME BECAUSE I MISSED UP THEIR SIDING.

Rick use the search button to find most of your answers. when you have searched and searched and still cant find your answer then post the question.

The answer to your question is no it will not discolor it as it is used to mix with house washing. Just dont let it dry on the siding.

Pat, you are right that the gates have been left open for too long and we do have a standard of mix that needs to be upheld. Perhaps it is time to move forward with a more power full certification standard. I am sorry I didn't catch this thread sooner after my initial post I missed the conversatation that followed until today.

David is one of the original founders that help gave this forum relevance, as well as a friend of Chris and that is why he is an admin. No, he isn't around much and does not use his admin status.

But the RCIA is not shot, just stalled a little from Chris' absence and a lack of planning for what this association is to become. I am sorry if it seems a little sloppy right now, but I promise that we are working on it and soon you will start to see some new topics about the future of the RCIA.

When I mentioned that sometimes I only use SH and water I was referring to very small areas that need treatment when I am already washing a home. It is preffered to use apple cider or apple sauce as an RCIA standard, but most importantly to not use other abrasive or high pressure methods.

I was writing about " roof cleaner from memphis",not your thread. I understand what you have written about David,I just thought he left Vinny hanging. Everyday more and more people sign up here, and get it all for nothing. They hit the street, under cut us because they operate from the trunk of thier car. Next year we will all be falling over each other. Also customers search the web, find this site....that also hurts us.

confuseWhat we all(most) have been asking for is make this a PAYED SITE and i mean pay up front, and your out when you decide to change the ways of RCIA, you can make reccomendations ,but don't come here and tell everyone do it my way. Yes to many people come and go , they get their info and maybe they get certified and their gone , i say if you leave you loose the right to say your certified from RCIA ! Hats off to Pat for speaking up!

Personally I would like the blog to be closed to the public and only open to paid members of the association. Hopefully this is one of many things we can implement or at least decide upon in the Near future.
I know you were not talking about my post, just thought I should clarify since I said it as well.

and I agree, hats of to Pat. If anyone has an opinion, please express it at anytime. This is a group effort and all opinions count. Even if some will disagree and some will not get their way, please always say how you feel (try not to be mean or cause a fight of course, but state your mind)

It has only been one year and alot of knowledge has been shared, soon we will direct that knowledge to a platform that all can be even more proud of than we have been of this site. Patience my brothers we will talk on all this very soon.

I agree with you Bill and hope we can implement a win win for all RCIA members serious about moving forward with this blog into something more.

The country is ready and the time is right and we all need to get fired up about the wonderful business we are all in. Outdoors, Clean Air (when we're not breathin' LOVE,lol), a chance to see different scenery, (not stuck indoors in a cubicle somewhere) and a chance to interact within our communities to beautify our local neighborhoods and town or city. Hey what what more can ya want?

Well, for me , an advancing organization that gets along AND advances the industry and that is a WIN-WIN for all.

Thanks Brian. I don't deserve all the credit. Chris Tucker is the man.

I simply combined the two best bleach enhancers from his two different mixes.

Apple Sauce and Apple Cider.

TSP and Alcohol together is the DEAL!!

Have you tried a product called QSE? I am going to be starting a roof cleaning business in the future. I am looking at different solutions to clean. They have a plan with the QSE product that is interesting. After you do the initial cleaning, you offer the customer a armor package. Which is basically, a 100.00 a year charge to come out and spray a protectant after the initial cleaning. What do you think about that? I kinda makes since. As you are getting more cleaning jobs through the next year, you are also going to exsisting customers to spray a protection solution also.

They also have a product that they claim can be used to clean all surfaces roofs brick siding awnings etc.
