Hello, I am trying to find someone that will sell me the Delavan 5850 per Chris at Apples recommendation. I have inquired with Delavan twice about local distributors with no response. Not sure I like buying from someone that won't respond to an inquiry for buying their product but Chris emphaticly said it was a great pump to start out with. Chris also said that two of these could be run in parallel to achive double the volume. I would like to try that but want to be sure that I understand how to set that up. How much chemical should I count on per sq. ft. of roof surface? I know that will differ dependant upon several variables but an approximation will be helpful. I am new to the low pressure roof cleaning world and any help is much appreciated. I have already gotten a great deal of help from this site and am thankful that so many people are willing to help.

Hey Bob welcome to the forum. Roanoke is a great town. Bob at Pressure Tek is very knowledgable with the Delavan 12 volt set ups. I have found him a wealth of information that he will openly share with you both on equipment and host of cleaning chemicals. For me I am focusing first and for most on marketing roof cleaning but will offer other service at a discounted rate such as a house washing, gutter cleaning etc. This approach has helped me in three ways 1. Keep my target price for a roof cleaning inline with my goals 2.An effective closing tool based on perceived added value for the prospect. 3. Decreasing over all travel and labor cost that effect my profit margins.
Thank you all for the help. Scott, I actually started a mobile wash company in Richmond in 1991 and then moved it to Roanoke in 93. Loved Richmond. It has exploded since I was there. I sold my business in 04 and am re-entering it now. We are a res/com/ind pressure washing and coatings company. I am intrigued by the changes that have been made in the pressure washing industry and am particularly excited about the low pressure chem washing that I am learning about here. I would like to call you this up coming week to ask you some questions about your set up and the process that you use if that is ok.
You don't need two pumps just buy one bigger.DELAVAN 7870 FATBOY. with 3/4 or 5/8 hose. that pump will put it on as fast as you want to. trust me brother it's the HEAT!!!
