I see some guys use brass crimped hose clamps and some use the screw clamps i in the past with irrigation systems have used a one piece all stainless steel ear clamp ,to install it you put it over the hose then put the hose barb in the hose and crimp it , whats nice about these you can to it yourself in the field. The irrigation clamps come in 3/4" & 1" i'm using 5/8 " hose and the 3/4" was to small and the 1" was ok but i felt it could be tighter so i found a company named Oetiker they make a clamp called stepless ear clamp it really works well if you find the right size on Ebay your lucky the clamp i used for 5/8" hose with a 5/8" hose barb was a 25.6 mm part # 16700031 , 15.00 for 100 on Ebay you need to get the crimping pliers at HD or Lowes or irrigation supply about 20.00 . The brass crimp clamps are great but you need to have it done most of the time at a shop.( hope this helps it works for me) Vinny
Yea I agree, factory type clamps are much "cleaner" than basic quick fix hose clamps. Thanks for giving this info, always good to hear everyones ideas and methods!!

Vinny?
Could you take some digital pictures of these clamps and the method of application so OTHERS can visually see the method you are describing?

Here's some pictures of the tool and clamp you can get more info on size of clamps at www.eldonjames.com the show the fully open size and the closed size of each clamp , if you have to remove the clamp it must be cut off with cutting dykes or pliers. hope this helps Vinny
We have used the crimp on hose clamps, they work GREAT, until a hose leaks Then, we never can FIND the crimping tool We always wind up back to the ones from an auto parts store, or Lowe's ?
My roof cleaning rigs always start out with all good stuff, but as it fails, we fix it as best we can with what is readily obtainable.
This is because we are busy, and my lack of ordering back ups for the good parts
Many who come to Tampa to learn roof cleaning with me are SHOCKED that someone who knows as much about roof cleaning has Home Depot Parts on their trucks
But often, that is how it winds up.
This is because I have employees who are busy getting all the roof cleaning work we do in Tampa done.
Now, when I was out cleaning roofs, it was a differnt story.
