I have been in the roof cleaning business much of my life and before I knew any better, I pressure washed many hundreds of roofs with a pressure washing machine. I saw the granules come off the asphalt shingled roofs, along with the black algae, but didn't know what else to do for my customers!

Then, I started experimenting with higher solutions of chlorine and detergents etc and finally, built a cleaning system that does not require any pressure to be used on a roof!

Now, we specialize in the cleaning of roofs and offer the newest and only "approved" [ by the roofing association ] " NO PRESSURE " often called "Non Pressure" or "SOFTWASH" roof cleaning system.
For asphalt shingle roofs, this system is a must and can add years to your expensive roof's life!
Pressure cleaning a shingled roof removes a large percentage of the granules, that make up the surface and color of your roof.
Even tile roofs benefit from our "NO PRESSURE" system, in that high pressure will send small pieces of tile and especially the cement holding your ridges in place, off into space!
Also, if you have a finish on your roof, such as a solid paint coat or a glazing, high pressure can peel the paint or dull the glazing.
Many Pressure Washers advertise "NO PRESSURE" but don't actually own the equipment. They simply use their pressure washing machine's chemical injector and end up using "SOME" pressure anyway and explaining [ if you see them do it ] that they turned the pressure way down.
ANY pressure will remove much of your asphalt shingle granules!
Click below to go to the roofing manufacturers association and read for yourself it's simple clear statement about pressure-
"HIGH PRESSURE WASHING SYSTEMS FOR ALGAE REMOVAL SHOULD NOT BE USED" http://www.asphaltroofing.org/pdf/tb_217.pdf

Of course, we do have state of the art pressure washing equipment as well, for pressure cleaning houses, pool enclosures, decks, driveways, paint preparation etc.
In fact, with our many years of experience, we have found that a pressure washer that puts out a larger flow of water [5.6 GPM] and less actual pressure 2000 - 2500 psi, gets the job done better than a higher blasting pressure and lower water flow [4 GPM] or less.
On occasion, high pressure is needed, such as on some concrete and steel surfaces, so we also have a 3500 psi machine with us at all times to use as needed, just not on roofs!

Another reason to hire us to clean your roof is-
You may see competitors who say they are "Plant Friendly" or "Water plants well"
Many of my competitors just rinse plants off as they go or when they finish. Often, this results in dead leaves a few days later, or dead plants, to my past experience.
WE COVER ALL OF YOUR PLANTS WITH TARPS, or water them constantly PERIOD!!
That's as "PLANT FRIENDLY" as it gets in this business!
Because this offers the maximum protection!

We will also, without charge, on most roofs, repair and realign cracked and slipped out tiles. { There is a reasonable limit to how many we will do for free.}

My son has worked continuously with me since 1994 and is a licensed professional along with myself.

So, if you have a Black Algae on your Roof that needs removing, whether for:

#1. Health reasons [Those who suffer respiratory ailments are adversely affected by the airborne mold spores]
#2. To stop the deterioration of the roof [ algae eats constantly]
#3. Astetics [ many beautiful homes have their appearance spoiled by black, discolored roofs]
#4. Because your homeowners association requires it.
Give us a call!
You will be glad you did and your neighbors may thank you!

Hi Chuck,

All that info you wrote need to go in the sites you create for blogs below, not here, although it is ok for now, but honestly some of what you are saying does not align with what RCIA teaches and conflicts.? Read more? Less pressure? more volume? 2500psi? Not good? That is what it says you are using? 100 psi average or less is considered non- pressure chemical cleaning? Study methods and delivery so you promote the right things in your "BLOG"?

More suggestions?

Go to www.blogger.com. Read up on blogs. Make a blog there. Add to it daily?

Go to Wordpress.com Make a blog there and add to it...Daily?

Go to MerchantCircle.com Sign up for free. Post all your info, make a blog. " "

Type in "free advertising for businesses" on Google.

Post your business on every free site you can. """""""

Keep track of these sites by using Notepad in MS XP or MS WORD.

Keep track of all your log in names and passwords so you can find it when you need it.

Hope this helps you Chuck.

Hello Chuck,

This is what you have posted.

"In fact, with our many years of experience, we have found that a pressure washer that puts out a larger flow of water [5.6 GPM] and less actual pressure 2000 - 2500 psi, gets the job done better than a higher blasting pressure and lower water flow [4 GPM] or less.

This pressure is exactly what the RCIA was created to PREVENT against buddy?

Earlier in what you wrote you said non pressure and no pressure, then you PROMOTE pressure and LOTS of it here in this quote. You cannot conflict with yourself ?

Carrying around a 3500 psi pressure washer and then saying your promote safe roof cleaning is a conflict.

Learn here buddy, use the right chemical ratios and try other methods, that is why this site was created?

Come away from the Dark side and the force will guide you, no more will you be worried about blasting ridges and concrete tiles and tuckpointing "off into space"

Please review what you are promoting and see how you can more accurately describe your services, for your own good ?

Just trying to help.

David W.

Good job Chuck!
Dave is correct, you need to seperate the pressure washing blog from the roof cleaning blog.

Chuck, LISTEN to waht Dave is suggesting, go to Blogspot or Wordpress and get you a free blog.

Then, have you gone to merchant circle yet, or show me local ?

These 4 places are a MUST IMHO, and you should seriously consider placing them on your agenda, as Dave suggested.

Off topic, I am GLAD you got your first jobs recently off the Internet!

Hello David! smile.gif
I respectfully completely disagree that anything I wrote suggests using a pressure washer on a roof? no
Where do you read that? confuse
I made it abundantly clear that a roof should not be cleaned using a pressure washer. AFTER I finish speaking about the method I use to clean roofs, { With the standout, backed up statement "
"HIGH PRESSURE WASHING SYSTEMS FOR ALGAE REMOVAL SHOULD NOT BE USED" http://www.asphaltroofing.org/pdf/tb_217.pdf " blankstare
then I mention that we also pressure clean [not roofs, the previous statements make that clear] but houses, pool cages, decks, driveways, parking lots and paint preparation on steel and other surfaces.
Even though you seem to have misinterpreted my statement on roof cleaning, you have still done me some good!
I believe I will change the wording on the pressure cleaning part of my business, to be even more specific, as to just what I will pressure clean-adding: "Houses, Pool Cages, Decks, Driveways, Concrete, Trucks etc"
If you could misread my thinking, potential customers could too, I guess!
Thanks for your thoughts and also for your "blog type" advertising suggestions!
Much appreciated!

Hi Chris! smile.gif
I will be changing my wording, to more completely seperate roof cleaning from pressure cleaning!
However, I want to fully comply with RCIA posting, so if I am not supposed to mention that I pressure Clean houses etc at all, then I will have to start all over again with new websites and blogs?
To me, Roof Cleaning with no pressure, goes hand in hand [for most people?] with the pressure cleaning of the remainder of the house and concrete?
If you would rather I not mention that I pressure clean at all, i'll abide by that, without complaint!
Just say the word!
Thanks,
Chuck

I always tell my customers I use:

No pressure for roofs.

Low pressure for houses.

High pressure for concrete.

Every surface requires different chemicals and pressure.

Chuck FYI I for one totaly understood what you were saying and I realized you were ONLY using the HIGH pressure washing methods on cages and concrete drives.... NON pressure is obviously the way to go for roofs, but if you do things other than roofs as well you obviously need the right tools to get the job done.....I mean afterall I dont think EVEN RCIA would reccomend cleaning a nasty driveway with ones nonpressure roof cleaning set up...(although I'm sure I'll hear of the guys who do it that way). Just my thoughts on your blog....gotta go I'm almost done reading EVERY SINGLE POST on this site so nobody can "get off easy" by saying "go read" or "use the search feature" when I ask questions in the future.

Erich
