Hose reels

You know, I don't even use hose reels for my roof cleaning hoses anymore. Just as easy for me to use sections. I have three sections, 100' and two 50'. I rarely need two hundred feet and I don't have a leaking hose reel to fool with.
But, this is just how I like it, makes for one less thing to go wrong. May seem a little archaic but it works for me. I don't mind coiling hoses by hand, and I'm never in that much of a hurry.

I use a stainless steel Hose tract reel.

I use to have a 3/4" stainless steel swivel, but I decided to take it off because it was getting really rusty. I now use 3/4" banjo poly quick connects for my swivel instead. I disconnect it when I need to unroll and roll my hoses up. I always rinse the hose out with water before disconnecting the quick connects.

My hose reel is still fine though. No rust.

I have spoke to Summit about making an All STAINLESS STEEL ONE (1") MANIFOLD for their reels and it is a possibility that may happen if others show an interest?

This addresses flow, of course, and not the rust issue so let me get back to that.

I had been speaking to the Owner of Titan about making a SS -1" manifold for their 5528 series which would be about as good as it gets, then, Titan changed ownership a while back and the topic was shelved.

Chris, of Apple had mentioned in another thread about Kynar swivels or Teflon Swivels being bmade somewhere? Look further into this?

Do a SEARCH and see which THREAD that was on and follow up on it and let us all know what come up with and if you locate another solution.

Using a Stainless Manifold and Swivel and a consistant CLEAR WATER RINSE back into your SHC tank, requires building a multiple draw manifold) most times WILL do the trick to give most roof cleaners at least a couple to a FEW seasons of trouble free longevity before you will need to think about swivel repair kit / replacement?

The rest is about MAINTENENCE.

My personal thought is that if you are able to RINSE your HOSE and Manifold after the end of your work day consistently you will see a reduction of rust and an extension in the useful life of all your chemical delivery equipment?

I would like to have a 3/4" kynar swivel. Or 1" would be good too.

I use a hose reel from a local supply store that is made of plastic. I have everything plumbed in how I need it, and it holds 225' of hose. When it gets worn out, just replace it. I hate spending $250 on a titan or cox reel only to have the thing rust in two months.

ok no laughing, Money is tight and I purchased a hose reel from Hone Depot for 79 bucks. I will give it a try,I will rinse it after every job and see how long it last.

Is that 1/2" ?

Do you know if they make a 3/4" Chris or 1"?

That swivel looks like it is threadless? IS it?

If so, does the manufacturer make 1/2" threaded?

I need 6 of these in 1/2" Threaded MPT now?

Probably not! Especially since Chris responded with "yeah right" LOL!

I wish though, a 3/4" kynar swivel would be perfect.

I wish a lot of things, like

1) Fix global warming

2) Pay off the national debt of 10 trillion dollars

3) Climb Mount Everest in one day without oxygen

4) Beat Fedor and win the WAMMA Heavyweight championship

5) Beat Brock Lesnar and win the UFC Heavyweight championship

Doesn't sound unreasonable does it?

Do you know of a KYNAR SWIVEL in 1/2" that would be acceptable to mount on a� SS Titan manifold and handle 100-150psi?

She then called Mark and found out they do one model is a 5022-6 its all stainless Lori can sell it for 555.00 it holds 300' of 5/8" hose . To much for me right now as a newbie i ordered a 4322s its aluminum with a 1/2 ss manifold & swivel it also can hold up to 300' of 5/8" hose, so for you guys with those big pumps and hoses heres your 1" manifold . Hey Chris if you read this Lori thought you were from New York

Post what you know about the Kynar coatings on the web.

Anyone with good info on roof cleaning and or ways you feel may make life easier for all roof cleaners in general should always be followed up by a link to the source of where you found the info.

We all learn together and grow as one roof cleaning brotherhood.

Participation by ALL is the key.

Just because you are a newbie or student of roof cleaning does not mean you cannot come up with a revolutionizing new idea or better way to do something or if you find the next ultimate gadget that may make life better for the next guy on the board...post that info with a link to it.
