I have been working with realtors for the last several years. They are good resources. We get a real estate guide in the local paper once a month,...Every Spring I e-mail the various realtors my information,...a lot of times I get a thank you for making them aware. And I do get work by doing this.

I am new to roof cleaning but have been in sales for 30 plus years. One of the first contacts that I have made were realtors in my area. Rather than clean the office of the realtor , I contacted the agents that list the homes. They work on commission. I pich the idea that THEY can make more money by listing homes with a better curb appeal. If you can show them that THEY are better off by selling YOUR service,it just does't get any better than that. Don't forget to drop off a little something when they sell a job for you. Money isn't always the best. Make it something personal, sented candel, golf balls, gift cert. for lunch, etc. Doesn't have to be expensive ,but something that they will remember, after all , you are just wanting to make selling easier and more enjoyable for them!!

Yes I have to agree, reality agents are in the business to sell and they also have a better chance of selling thier listing with a clean roof. curb appeal is a serious must in their line of work.
Great idea Dan on the little gift thingy , I like that

Clean on my friends

I contacted several office last year, but never got any business. I did a few estimates, but it seemed like the sellers were more concerned with holding onto their money than what a cleaner property MIGHT get them. I intend to keep trying.

The "problem" with realtors is that they think everyone is out to mooch off their listings. One obstacle we ran into with local realtors is that roof cleaning is in its infant stages around here, and they are not too privy on what it actually can do for them. Another obstacle is the homeowner sometimes wants that cost taken out of the realtor's commission.

I know Sherwin-Williams offers painters a program that shows potential customers how there paint selections look before the job is even started. I know my brother in-law has that program for his computer. I have always thought a program for what we di would be simple enough and would be a step above before and afters of other property's. I just think it would be nice to show the potential customer how their house would look with before and afters before the work was even done. Would be a great selling tool I think. I guess we need a software designer,....Anyone?

Realtors, like us belong to an organization. I have spoken in front of the local group in my area ,selling them on the benifits of my building supply co.,matching colors of siding , adding cabinets to kitchen, anything that the new home owner may need in remodeling. They need info. just like we do, and would appreciate a demo or talk on any subject that would help them sell homes. Call your local realtor and find out where their next meeting is.
