Depends on the type of surfactant you are using, how steep the roof is, the pump and the power supply. Gas powered setups you can use it pretty thick so it won't strain the pump/power supply too much.
12V pumps have a harder time with really thick mixtures unless you are using the best 12V FATBOY pump with a monster battery. The new FATBOY is almost as good as a gas powered pump.
Make sure you have a dry day, don't spray during damp morning hours. How long it sits can vary, temperature and how bad the problem is,...are probably the two determining factors. Don't be surprised if you have to spray really black areas 2-3 times, sometimes this stuff can be a bear to burn through, especially on a steep pitch. Figure anywhere up to 30 minutes for the product to work thoroughly. I catch myself spraying more product than necessary sometimes simply because I didn't give the first round sufficient time to work, even though I know better!! I've been going to therapy to try and resolve this issue, Ha Ha. Are you rinsing?
and no i was not planning on rinsing, just because everyone on here says not to,and to let it work better,i am up for anything, what ever i need to do i will, thanks again

Instead of borax, for a 40 gallon mix, use 2 quarts of isopropol alcohol from Walmart. You can cut your TSP down to 2 ounces/gallon when using alcohol.
See APPLE CIDER SAUCE thread.
100 gallon mix use 1 gallon of alcohol.
In 40 gallons of mix, a walkable roof, with 5 lbs. TSP, 64 oz. alcohol, 12-24 ounces of dawn is plenty,
Like Jeff said, lots of factors will depend on your mix, how long to dwell, reapply, etc.
I would like to thank you for all your help.I took you info and followed it to the T,today I cleaned a roof with no problem, within 15 mins the roof was STAIN-FREE.
Thanks Again Eric
