This very nice Lady called us for an estimate last week.
We quoted 750.00 to clean this barrel tile roof.

This a a pretty big house, under trees, so a blow off is probably needed too !

Really?? My business partner's last name is Kipp, and mine is Kulsveen, hence the name Kipp Kulsveen Pressure Cleaning. I'm actually a Kentucky native though, and went western kentucky university for 2 years before transferring to UK. Weird! I ran a pressure cleaning company in lexington and handed that off to my brother as I came down to florida. Good luck in the field, I'm sure I'll see more of you on here.

I hear of guys compromising there prices all the time. Me, I never do it, even if I need the money. All of our research and investment is worth more than to lower ourselves to low baller level.

LOL, thats great. I had a customer one time try to get me to come down from a $1200 deck washing job down to $900. They happen to be selling golden retriever pups, I asked if I could have one for half of what they were selling them for. I was there next week cleaning the deck at my price.

I tell them "that is exactly what their check will turn into when it hits the bank", LOL.

Going out of business's first signs, lowballing  "for cash". Yes, CASH is KING, however.........

Nickel and Dimers will cost you the most and be the most aggravating. All you can do is prove and show why they should pay a little more and have Peace Of Mind as opposed to the fly by night crew where anything is possible, nothing is written and they have their biggest investment and the one thing that covers it all up and protects it, being cleaned or DAMAGED possibly just to save a few bucks.

My Dad always said to me when I was a boy, " Pay the 2 cents Bubba" don't let them put it in for ya, do it right or dont' do it...

Just my .02 cents.....

ROFL wow wow wow they never cease to amaze me.
Last year (in the good old days when people bought anything for watever)
and under our old pricing we would have bid that job at $3500 plus.

Of course I know better now and had to charge those prices for the labor intensive slow method we used.  We started with the delco pricing.

Each area I work in, seems to have it's own "pricing range"
I can work in Punta Gorda Isles, Burnt Store Isles, The Oaks in Nokomis, Boca Grande and similar places and get $700 - $1200 for a 4000 sq ' home.
Here in Englewood, Port Charlotte and Venice [not their fancy subdivisions] the same house won't pay over $450. - $500.00
I too hear the "The last guy did it for $300
I always say "Why are you not having him do it again"?
They say "He's out of business"
I say "I want to stay in business, so I charge realistic prices and if you need me again in 5 years, i'll still be in business to help you!"
Other times they say "He won't return our calls"
I say "That's because he knows he worked too cheaply last time, so he's avoiding you"
I can honestly say, I get what I want for pretty much every job I do.
Price cutting and quicky knock out jobs are not the answer for staying in business.
I have survived in business since 1978 and see no reason, short of people not having any money to spend, why I will ever fail.
Much of the work in my area, is now done by Mexicans.
I have absolutly no problem with Mexicans at all.
My problem [if I had one??] would lie with the government continuing to allow ANY immigration, when they can not supply work for those already living here!
How about just saying, "The USA is the melting pot of all nations and we have always welcomed immigration. However, at this time we have nothing to offer an immigrant, so, we are stopping all immigration, until we have employed all who already live in this country and then, we will open immigration back up as there are employment opportunities to immigrate to!
Instead, the U.S. just lets 'em pour in and they need to do whatever they can to survive=
work cheap and the rest of us pay for it.
The blame is not on the Mexicans, it's on us [that us spelled U.S.]

I always stand by the original price quoted. I had a handyman service in Texas and was ALWAYS asked what the "Cash" price was. I always told them the same thing. I am giving you a fair price for the work you want me to perform and the price is the same wether you pay cash or check. If you want it done right, call me. If you want to take a chance and save a few dollars, call someone else.
I think it sends a bad message to back off on price. It tells them you were trying to screw them in the first place. If you could do it for less now, then you could have done it for less a week ago or a month ago. I think it ruins your credibility when you are willing to negotiate prices, especially on residential work.

Remember buyers are liers! never beleive them. we have a best price guarantee, so when they hit my guys with that they tell them, "well great get that estimate in writing and we will honor our best price guarantee wich will also give you an additional 25$ plus the difference" some reason we never have to go to beating the rediculous price. go figure? so as i said before BUYERS ARE LIERS!.

now were talking,
ok, these people don't have lower estimates and if they do it was a few years ago and there roof already looks like crap. Thats the first point, ms jones you say you payed 300 3 years ago and your roof looks like this already. why didn't you go back to that person. get the answer, make her say it. it will either be he is no longer in business or i am looking for the best deal. well you know why he's out of business, right ms jones? <---thats an easy one.
 if its the best deal crap than this is where you go. first off come up with a best price guarantee of your own. a one that works for your company. ours is 15 day best price. if you clean your roof with us and within 15 days you find a better price we will refund you difference plus $25. Or if you find a better price we will beat it by 25 bucks either way your gonna clean your roof with us. they would have to be stupid not to use us no matter what. its like that joke, if you are on a bus full of homos would you get off? theres no way out of that one.... think about it!
anyways if they have a lower price it is most likley from some one with a pressure washer on their roof or that gimmik crap you buy online. Thats not the same services we provide so the 15 day guarantee doesn't apply. also everyone knows don't pressure wash a roof so thats an easy way around that. otherwise they are lying to get a better price so you won't have to match or beat anything.
like in boiler room theres a sale made everytime your selling them or their selling you. who's gonna close! why would anyone tell you they have hundred grand in the bank? they won't they want the best deal possible. its human nature. we provide a great service of which we can put any value we want. theres no norm so have fun with it.
