I'm new to this business and very excited to know there is a place to go for training and certification.  Several years ago when I first started thinking about a business in cleaning roofs I had no idea that there were pioneers already blazing the trail.   Thanks to Al and Chris for answering all my questions when I called them and for pointing me to RCIA....I don't have to 'reinvent the wheel' on roof cleaning.    I'll see you guys in Tampa.

Hey Guys, I started out with the usual dumb questions and have found the answer to all of them on here just by doing searches-this forum is great and I really appreciate the professionals on here who are willing to share their techniques, recipes, ect. I have also been able to identify some mistakes I've been making -this has helped me alot-still waiting for my All-Flo which is on back order, so I can assemble my rig. Trailer pick-up is Monday, meanwhile I am looking for new jobs. Thanks again, and I look forward to my certification in due time.

Can you get certified faster if you invest time and money to go train with a master?

Thanks so much for offering this certification!  I have learned sooo much in about 15 minutes.  Looking forward to learning and communicating with fellow members.  Hoping to get to 100!  Will take awhile but it gives me more time to learn and have a quality service!  I am excited to get started!  The $100 is a minimal cost and not mandatory.  It's well worth the amount of knowledge I will obtain.

Thought it might be appropriate to make my 100th post in the certification area. I don't know if I have read everything on this site but I have to be close to it. It's almost hard to believe that a person could come here and learn a whole new trade for FREE!! I cleaned some roofs about 2 years ago but now I am pretty sure I can do it way faster and do a better job. I'm stoked about getting out there and doing it. Luckily my PW biz is at a point where I can focus on growing this part of my company now. I'm looking forward to attending all of AC's classes in Charleston to learn more. THANKS RCIA!!

Roof Cleaning Certification has started at RCIA !

The RCIA Forum "keeps track" of your posts.
Here is how it works.
0 - 5 posts - Roof Cleaning Newbie
6 to 24 posts - Roof Cleaning Apprentice
25 to99 posts - Roof Cleaning Student
100 to499 posts - Certified Roof Cleaner-{when verbal test is passed}
500 or More posts - Certified Master Roof Cleaning Instructor !

In addition, to the 100 post requirement, you must pass a verbal roof cleaning test administered by our CertifiedMaster Roof Cleaning Instructors.

A donation of 100.00 to the RCIA issuggested, but not mandatory.
The money will be used to KEEP the RCIA Forum at the top of roof cleaning searches, and give our certified roof cleaners maximum Internet Exposure.

ALL yourposts will be monitored carefully by our instructors, and should be about roof cleaning ONLY.

Once you earn Certification, you will be able to proudly display the RCIA Roof Cleaning Certification Logo on your website !

And then, and ONLY then, will you be allowed to post in our State Roof Cleaning Forums.

Maybe YOU can be one of us ?

Chris,
It looks like the Student and Apprentice are mixed up here in your breakdown compared to how the form is labeling users...

6 to 24 posts - Roof Cleaning Apprentice
25 to99 posts - Roof Cleaning Student

Didn't know if this had been brought to your attention yet or not.

Glad to be part of an educated  team of professionals. Looking forward to learning as much as I can about roof cleaning. Very interested in becoming Certified in the State of Virginia and possibly the only one in the city of Charlottesville!

RCIA CERTIFICATION

Sunday March 13, 2011

There have been many Premium members that have been waiting for the new RCIA certification process to be released. It has taken a lot of time, work, and effort over the past few months, but I am proud to say the RCIA now has a new Certification in place. We will start certifying members as of April 1, 2011. Thank You for all your support here at the RCIA, and for our certification program.

Here is the new RCIA Certification Process

  • Anyone that would like to become certified by the RCIA Must first become a PREMIUM Member. (Membership is $100 per year)

  • Any member that would like to become certified must have a minimum of 100 valid posts on the RCIA forum.

  • You must then contact Gary W. and Pay $150. This is the Certification FEE.

  • There are 2 parts to the Certification Test. There is an online test, and a verbal or in person test.

  • You will be required to attend the certification Webinar/s (cost already included in Cert. FEE.)

  • After attending the Webinar/s, you will take a 50 question online test (Passing Grade is 75% or higher)

  • If you fail the online test you must wait 48hrs. Before taking the test again.

  • If you pass the online test you will need to contact Gary W. to schedule your Verbal Test.

  • The verbal or in person portion of the test will be completed with a Master Roof Cleaning Instructor.

  • There is a $50 verbal/in person test fee that will be paid Directly to the instructor.

  • The Master Roof Cleaning Instructors will be picked by Chris Tucker.

  • If you fail the Verbal test you will have to wait 1 week before you can retake the test. There is a $25.00 re-test fee payable to the instructor.

  • If you pass the verbal test you will then be added to the Elite RCIA Certified List. Any presently certified member will be grand-fathered from taking the verbal/in person test, but must pay and sucessfully complete the online tests. This will ensure everyone, new or old, has completed the same requirements for certificatiion.

Sincerely

Chris Tucker
