BOB has the 12V Delavans, but not the Yamada pumps.

Check on eBay for yamada pumps.

Air compressor depends on the pump and how much production / flow you want to do.

Chris uses the 5.5hp Ridgid for the NDP-15 Kynar pump.

You can go smaller for the NDP-5 pumps.

I think our nozzles are rated at 40 psi Mike ?
We usually run our�roof cleaning�pumps at 90 psi.
I have never measured the flow at the end of the hose the old fashioned way, with a stop watch and a 1 gallon bucket.
With the big compressor, we actually had to go down a nozzle size because of run off.

I have a small twin tank 110 volt rigid that I will try on monday with my yamada 5. I hooked it up the other day and it worked fine I just didn't check how far it would shoot. still playing with the tipping.

The first 2 numbers are the fan pattern and the last numbers are the orifice size so the 00 means that it is a zero degree (just a hole for a straight stream, no fan) and the other numbers are the size of orifice, that one is smaller than a 1/4" hose barb opening.

Those can be found at some suppliers online like PressureTek, Southside equipment, Water Cannon, Espec, etc....

You might have a hard time finding them locally so check online and get a couple of each fan pattern like 00, 15, and 25 depending on how you spray.

For spraying roof mix, I use a Banjo poly 3/4" valve. PVC also works well. The white PVC valves at Home Depot would be the cheapest way to go, and they hold up well.

At the bottom of the gun I use a brass garden hose thread adapter. At the top I have poly bushings to step it down to a 1/4" stainless steel coupler, and use a stainless steel 3-way nozzle holder with 0060, 1560, & a 3/8" barb for my pumps.

Since roof cleaning require low pressure pumps, the best guns are the ones that spray straight through with no bends to restrict the flow, like plain 3/4" ball valves.

This fire hose style nozzle also works good if you don't like changing nozzles.

Hey guys,
Who is using the ridgid air compressor and what pump do you use with it? I'm trying to get an operation off the ground with a very limited budget. Of course the first couple of jobs will help for better equipment. I'm really not so thrilled with the pumps that are on batteries or attached to your truck. Just makes me nervous. I am liking the air compressor way... but just need some basic info on what exactly you use or what i should use to get good results without sacrificing time. Sorry I am a newbie and still figuring this out.

A lot of people use the regular pvc ball valves.

I have the Bandit and use the gun/wand that came with it. It is a poly gun with 1/2" inlet/outlet and it works great. It has a poly wand that is 3' long and at the end is a 45 degree elbow and then a 1/4" coupler so I can change out nozzles as needed.

Since the couplers/plugs will rust and corrode over time, I have banjo 1/2" camlock fittings on the end of the hose and extra hose and gun so if I have a job that needs more hose, I can just add another 50' or 100' with the camlock fittings. They do have the viton gaskets in them.

If you're indeed on� a limited budget the electric pumps is what you want to get started with. The air pumps you're reading about here are just least expesive part of the air diaphragm system. The compressor is what sets you back a little. The electric pumps are perfectly safe if that is your concern. They do have to be wired properly, but that's not real hard. Then you can move on from there. Have you done any roofs yet?

Does pressuretek sell the poly wand or did you make it?

I am not sure what banjo 1/2" camlock fittings are.� Where do you get those?

What diameter hose are you using?�

For the wand, you can use pvc, sch. 80pvc or poly pipe. They sell all that at Home Depot.

The Banjo camlock fittings look like these:

I use the 1/2" hose that came with the Bandit but recently changed it out with the 1/2" orange Plyovic hose that Bob sells on the Bandits now, Both are good hoses but I like the orange better, seems stronger.
