This is my very first post on this new forum, so I want to say hello to all!
My best wishes are sincerely extended to the forum moderators, to this great new site and to everyone in general who participates and learns from or adds to this great place.
My personal goal here is to learn from others and share my experience and to hopefully be of maximum benefit to the contract cleaning (roofs) community.
This is a very much needed "Place in Cyber space" for all of us who climb ladders for and spray water for money, especially in the roof cleaning arena.
I want to briefly address and expand on the area of rinsedown and chemical application.
There are other types of pumps that are available for chemical and for rinsedown that have not been discussed and as such I would like to address these.
Diaphram Pumps- There are many models but two main manufacturers and they are Hypro and Udor. Both manufacturers have been in business for many years and replacement parts are readily available.
We personally use the 21 GPM Hypro D813 with a 13 hp Honda and a Gear Reduction System and run 3/4" Kuri Tec Poly hose on a SUMMIT SM30 hose reel and use this with a 525 gallon tank primarily for rinsing off roofs quickly and completely. As they say time is money and this setup allows us to save time and therfore make more of the green stuff.
We also use several other Hypro diaphram pumps model 413 at 10.6 gpm with 6.5hp Honda motors at 60-125psi with 1/2" Orange Kuri Tec hose for rinsedown with Titan all aluminum and stainless manifold hose reels
For chemical use we use a UDOR ZETA 40 which is mated to a gear reduction and 6.5 hp Honda motor and this is the KING of chemical pumps because it is all glass filled polypropaleyne and stainless and the fluids never touch metal so it is the ultimate pump for quickly and effectively dispersing chemical and at up to 10.4 gpm and 300 psi max. it can handle both chemical application and rinsedown duties if you are on a limited budget.
All the pump setups I have mentioned are PRO type units and are utilized daily for roof cleaning. They are not cheap but you do get what you pay for and if you want to play, as they say, you have to pay.
Hope this helps someone out there. Good Luck and rubber side down!
