Here are some pics of a couple of jobs that I did a while back. Its funny that in the old days I took pics. Now days I am usually in too big of a hurry to do the job and get on with the next that I do not take time to take pics... However business has slowed down considerably due to Hurricane Ike and the economy. Has it affected anyone else?
Sweet job on those Tile Roof Cleanings. Those are some big Roofs. It has slowed down a bit here for us in Saint Petersburg Florida but I believe it's only because of the weather lately. It has been very cold. Should be warmed up by this weekend though and more Roof cleaning jobs should start rolling in. Hows the weather been over their where you are?
40 this morning, 60 by lunch & 68 by 5 pm. Cleaned an asphalt roof, brick chimney, flagstone pool deck, driveway, & the entire house for 1 customer today. Then I gave 2 quotes. That is the good news. The bad...no more booked jobs. Sit and wait. If all I did was roof cleaning I would go out of business... Roof cleaning has really not caught on here yet. But I am always happy when one comes around.
Roof cleaning in Cleveland and Columbus Ohio obviously hasnt taken a hit from the hurricane but the several feet of snow and sub zero tems have. I was doing pretty well at the end of the season last year and have several that I couldnt get to last year lined up to start this year but Im a little curious how buisiness will be with the economy and the outlook being worse than it was, especially in Ohio where probably 70% of people dont even know that roof cleaning exists.
I hate when hurricanes they come but I would rather take that chance than live in cold weather areas. brrr! Usually we get about a month off each year from the middle of Dec - Jan 15th and ten you better hang on.

Past couple of mornings it has been in the high 30's low 40's and very windy. I've got 2 Tile Roofs to do which I already switched to Saturday. Gonna be back in the 70's. I've also got to Pressure Wash a Driveway and a Wood Fence ( both sides ) around the property and do a paint prep on the house.- Thats on the first Roof Cleaning job.- The 2nd is just a 3400sq ft Tile Roof Clean. Thank God I have a helper. I'de never get all that done alone in one day. LOL...Got a couple jobs lined up for next week but they are all Pressure Washing. I do hate this cold weather.
Nice work there Mike, what an improvement to that property. It's only February but I'm already beginning to get the itch to start roof cleaning in Central, Pa
Thanks Jeff! I've been slack about taking pictures in the past, but I'll have to change that this year. You guys have got lots of great shots, I need to catch up.
I'm kind of anal when it comes to my photographs. I like the lighting to be just right, the camera angle, the dramatic difference, weather, etc.
Great pictures guys, I wish I could take pictures that good.
I really need to get a new camera, one with many more features than the one I have. Maybe some lessons too. hahaha

Lots of features are nice but they can make taking pictures very complicated. The main thing to have is a canera with a good lens. I use a Panasonic DMC-TZ5. It has more features than I can remember how to use so I usually just set it on automatic, point & click. It has a 10x optical zoom that takes great pics at a distance.
how did you get around on this roof looks like one hell of a pitch.also do you ever have to rent a lift?
Yes it was a very steep roof. That house is one of the reasons that I was looking on the internet for a better way when I found this forum. Gotta be a better way. In the past I have been using Envirospecs induction pump to clean roofs... It has a shuflo pump and will eventually get the job done. It took a day and a half to do that one job. We walked the ridge line of the roof and walked down to within 10 feet of the edge and sprayed down the pitch. When the tiles are dry you can walk on them but let them get wet while the fungus is still on it and you will fall immediately. It was a job from hell because I cleaned it on a windy day and the wind was picking it back up before it hit the roof sometimes and blowing it back on us...
Hey Guys, you are doing this all wrong ! When you post roof cleaning pictures, post them in threads aimed at where thay were taken. IOW - Roof Cleaning Katy Texas ? USE the tags to tell Google where the pictures were taken, and what kind of roof cleaning it was.
If you want examples, look at MY threads when I post pictures ? Or, at some others.
I got this job from United Roofing Company in Pleasant Garden. I got lucky and they recommended to the customer that this roof needs cleaning and not replacing, which is pretty rare coming from a roofing company.
Especially considering this roof is over 20 years old.
Customers do not know that roofs this neglected can be cleaned as long as the shingles are still holding up and have sufficient granules.

My most dramatic photographs are when the before pics are taken on cloudy overcast days (dark and hideous) and the after pics on bright and sunny (high noon) days.
I let it rain a few times to rinse off all the mold good before taking the after shots.
