Discoloration Of Limestone Brick

Hello All,



I have some discoloration I encountered after I sprayed 10% S H on black mold on the surface of a white limestone residential brick house. This was done about one week ago. Since then I have used a power washer on the areas discolored with no affect at all. Please note that the mortar in between the brick does not have the discoloration. In addition, one area of the house treated the same way that had green algae looks great with no discoloration. Anything advise on what I might have done wrong and how to correct it would be greatly appreciated.

In my opinion the SH wouldn't do that. But, if I was trying to get the original color back, I'd hit those areas with oxalic acid first,..then move up to something a little stronger. Be careful with acids on stone, they can leave acid burns.

i did a church last year with limestone base ..this brown you see is the reaction with the iron content in the stone ...that is why the mortar isnt turning..great place t get these answers is to Google........ gravestone restoration... that is were i did my research before i did the job..hope this helps
