Have ordered an 8gpm machine from Russ and a 125 gall buffer tank.
Also fitting a Fat boy and 50 gall tank along with a generator for the gutter vac system.
Installed a sealed factory bulk head and a spinner vent in the roof along with a full Line X coating.
The gear to go inside should be here mid Jan but i need to get it wrapped.

First step is a Wrap

What order of importance would you put the following for the wrap.

1 Company Name.
2 Website.
3 Phone Number,
4 Services Offered, ( we offer services but should we just promote our 4 most profitable ones)
5 Areas covered
6 Licensed Insured Bonded,
7 Soft wash Safe,
8, Our Guarantee,  "If you are not happy then you dont pay one cent",
9 Anything I have missed,

This is the first step to getting everything right the first time.

Looking forward to everyone's input.

Bill

NEVER advertise,.."If you are not happy then you don't pay one cent" Never give anyone an avenue for LEGALLY not paying. Something like "Quality Guaranteed" is better.

What services are you going to offer pertaining to the pressure washing/soft washing/roof cleaning areas?

Jeff

Where are you going to run the exhaust from all the motors? Going to be a LOT of heat inside that van, PW's can be fitted with generators so you may not need one.( free's up some room for a compressor and air system). I would give this project more thought. If you buy one of those stainless nozzles you will have TOTAL control over your flow. (just use a 12v fatboy) or an air system.

Gary makes a good point,..you're going to have lot going on inside the van. Another thing to mention as well,.the off gassing of S H in your roof tank is gonna rust anything that is not VERY well protected,..tools, nuts bolts on equipment, mufflers etc,...Should have had the whole inside Line-X'ed. Gonna also need a ladder rack. I work out of a van as well,..I have plywood on the walls so I can keep t painted up easily and also make use of the walls better than the raw steel will allow me. But I also pull a purpose made wash trailer from the old Wash-On-wheels company,..and through modifications over the years I've made it into a nice little power wash/roof cleaning rig.

OK Here goes

Where would I get the stainless nozzles
Does the 690 Honda have a generator I need 30A for the gutter vac.
I am a one man band so only 1 machine running at a time.
Plan to hang the ladders from the roof inside should get a 26 footer inside.
We will be soft washing HOA and condo blocks with some residential maybe some pressure washing but not much.
We will only fill the chem tank on the days we work and plan to keep the SH in the 20 ltr containers we get it in till we get to the job so
hopefully there should not be too much off gassing.
When i do the dry fit I plan to have the genny and PW at the rear door or if i must vent through the floor for the 690 as some guys do.
Will i have more problems with heat than guys who use enclosed trailers because of the thicker steel on the walls?

Please keep your thoughts coming it could save me time and headaches.

Bill

Get the nozzle here www.masterindustriesllc.com/News-or-Reviews.html

Tell Bary you are a RCIA member so he installs viton O rings in it, You will need a Banjo valve and a piece of brass pipe so you have total control over flow

Hi Jeff,

Every page of or website and every email and invoice we ever issue says the same thing

"Total satisfaction guarantee if you are not delighted with the service you receive from us then you don't pay one Cent"

I have had this in place for 10 years and have NEVER had an issue. We do AWESOME work.

Whether its a $500 home or a $10,000 condo block or HOA I stand by my word.

My simple guarantee gets me work that I would not otherwise land at higher prices.

My strongest sales line is

"Do you really want the guy on your property who will not get it right first time and will keep coming back time and again till he gets it right.
Your home is your biggest investment please think carefully about the kind of company you want working on your home"

This works incredibly well and will continue to be the heart of how I run the business.

Hey Bill, here's thing:

I'll try to say this as nice as I can,Ha,Ha,..Unless you plan on adding a trailer,...I think you should have thought your equipment out before making your purchase of the van. You've limited yourself on equipment and setup choices. Such as HAVING to use a 12v system due to space. Either way,..that van is gonna fill up very quickly if you plan on getting serious about the washing business,..With soft washing and roof cleaning there are other things that take up alot of room, hoses for one,..you need 200' minimum of roof cleaning hose, and 200' of PW hose,..and supply hoses which I have 150' but you could maybe get away with less.
There's brushes for scrubbing gutters, miscellaneous cleaners, such as acids, S hydroxide,..etc....things that you need on board when you're serious about the business. If you plan on doing any flat work you'll want to get a surface cleaner,,..You need a ladder rack,..one ladder isn't going to cut it,..you need a step ladder and I'd say a 16' or a 20' to go along with you're 26',..both if possible. Throwing things inside the van as needed isn't practical because you don't know what you're going to run into on every job.
You're thinking terms of improbability when you say you'll only have SH in your tank when you're on the job. Just doesn't work out that way. Most jobs aren't gonna take the exact amount you put in the tank. And filling at the job site will get old very quickly.

*This stuff doesn't even include your gutter vac system,..which I haven't any clue how much room it takes up.

**Take this as constructive criticism, just trying to give you a heads up on things you're going to encounter.

Jeff

Thanks Jeff for your thoughts,

I have been running out the back of a short bed truck for the last 10 years and think that everything will fit just fine but time will tell.
I am going to triple stack the hose reels which I was told by some knowledgeable guys on here will work well and the small 125 buffer tank will not take up too much space.
Have never used a ladder longer than 20 ft in the last 10 years so the new bigger one with my existing folding one should work.

But time will tell I never plan to be a full time soft wash or pressure washer as these are just add ons to my existing business and will probably only be used 30 to 40 days a year.

As you say things fill up fast but if I can take some advice from you experienced guys on here I'm sure it will all be good in the end.

Bill

Ok Bill,.. you seem to have it all figured out,..and I won't give you anymore suggestions. There have been many guys here who had it figured out and was only asking questions out of curiosity,..they always seem to disappear,..they must become so successful that its no longer worth their time to stick around,...I applaud that knowledge,...(Actually, I don't,... I think they most likely failed)

* As you say,..you're not planning on doing it for real,..(30-40 days a year),..Not really worth the time to help anyhow.

Jeff

Thanks jeff for your input,

Asking questions because I am always willing to learn. Who knows how the business will develop.
I am always free with my advice to others in areas that I have more knowledge (Window and Gutter cleaning)
Would never begrudge advice to someone looking for advice to make their businesses safer and more productive even if its just an add on to what they currently do. (Not for real as you say)
I have been in the cleaning business 10 years now and will continue to give advice when asked if i have the expertise in the field.

All I can say is thanks for the advice so far and a Big thank you to all the other guys who have offered advice to some of my other questions, I will be purchasing the 12V north star pumps that Chris recommended and may look at an air system if we start to clean more roofs (Thanks Chris)

I will continue to post here and learn from the reply's and will answer questions if asked and I am sorry You feel that my business and requests for Information is not worth your time.

Bill
