Ray, stick with a pressure pro, or a more commercial type brand. Youll be much happier in the long run. I went through about six light duty pW before I realized they were a waster of time and money. Get a 4 gm, 4000 psimachine with adjustable pressure.

I have three Karches just like that. They have paid for them selves many time over. The only problem I have with them is the pumps. You can buy new pumps for about $100. They are good for condo work. You can put a man on each PW and make money all day. I will be up grading this year to 4 gpm, 4 psi.

Art, they definetly aren't CAT pumps and what I have read, people say the pumps do fail but just replace them like you said.

Hey Gary...are there shipping rates descent? I rember you saying you purchased a hot water rig a few months back from this auction.

5.5 gpms and atleast 3500 psi for concrete and if you really do alot of siding a cold water 8gpm at 3000psi will knock em out the park of course using the soft wash method.

if he wants to do volume or squeeze in 2 or 3 more jobs per day. Then he needs a 5.5 or 8gpm machine. I will never buy a 4gpm machine ever again. Just too slow.

I heard you can get some great deals from Home depot, They have " refurbished "
{ someone returned it} washers that you can get a great deal on. You can even talk them down more after that I have heard.

At least 4 gpm. Its nice to go bigger but then you'll need a dedicated water tank. You could easily do 35k per year on a single 4 gpm machine.

I would recommend a volume of 5 to 8 GPM and Pressure of 3,000 to 3,500 PSI.

I like my Karchers because they are light weight and easy to move around the job. I don't use the preasure, just the pump to softwash They also use less gas and soap. I even use them to power my surface cleaner. I'm going bigger this year but will still be using my small machines for house and condo washing.

Ray, you get what you pay for with surface cleaners. Whisper Wash holds up well. Excellent swivel assembly. Not cheap. I just bought the Classic from PT. I think it was around $600.

General makes a Hammerhead. Either 18" or 20" and Northern tools sells them. I think Mike Derose just picked one up. Around $300-$400.

The hover types are better for residential in my opinion. Make sure your tips are no larger than 2.5's which should work well with your machine.

I bought an Aaladin Hot water machine, 5.5 GPM, 3000 PSI, 465,000 btu burner, 18 HP electric start Vanguard engine, with 350 hours for $550.00. It cost $125 to ship from Chicago to Louisvlle Ky..

Check them out .. You can bid online, that what I did.

for residential the bigger the better, once you used 8 or higher you will never ever go back to 5 I promise you.

Honestly I would like to have about 15 - 20 gallons per minute.
