USUABLE BARREL LIFE OF SH

What is the approx. life of SH in the barrel it comes in? Does the color of the barrel make any difference? It is in my garage which never gets below 35*-40*
The first 55 gal drum I bought was in a blue barrel. The latest one is in a black barrel. Does light effect SH and how long will the SH remain useful?
With the colder weather at hand, would I be better off to do a couple "FREE" churches to get rid of the SH, or try and preserve it for the few 50* days we might have before spring.
Your input appreciated.

Hi Gary I'm looking forward to these answers.

The black drum is for the summer because it's vented
S.H. is best kept in Blue and black oppose to clear
S.H. does not freeze

see if Im correct

I sent you a PM. I needed info on your sign's that you sell. You never got back to me. do you handle your roof estimates this way too???

Just waiting for a day where it doesn't look like it night time out there. Today is supposed to be sunny, so I'll probably take the pics today. Your estimate comment is a "little" out of line, but I understand!nodisbelieffurious

Thats where I uploaded them to, because I can't figure out how to post them on here like everybody else does. There is no instructions in the "search" area. on how to post pictures. Do you know??

Sorry you're not interested in a sign. Have a Merry Christmas!!

I will try to explain. I down load my photo's from my camera to my computer.
then when posting at the bottom you click attach file, then you click file name, then select picture then go to your pictures in your computer and select one at a time and click open I think.

You can do it. hope that helps.

I am not computer smart if I can do it you can.

Gary that is a good topic you started so once you read last post I'm going to delete my personal conversations between you and me regarding your signs.

I do not think the original question was fully answered up to this point. But I have read that some cleaners say that their SH loses its kick after two weeks and after three it is basically salt water. I would use the Apple Roof Cleaning method. Which is -- if you can see the stains start to disappear right after five minutes the mix is right on. IF the stains start to disappear before five minutes you have too much SH.
