Do I need to change my hose?

My current setup was bought used.  It has the small Shurflow pump at 1.8 GPM.  My hose is 200 feet of braided reinforced pvc (?) hose.  Picture attached.  I have ran my hand over the entire length of hose and did not find any bubbles or bad spots in the hose.  I plan on replacing the shurflow pump with a Delavan 5800.  Can I still use the 1/2" hose or do I need to replace it with 5/8" or will the 5800 work ok with the 1/2"?

The 1/2" will work but 5/8 is better. Clean a couple of roofs and then replace the hose with cash.

Pat

Thanks for the advice. Makes good "cents" since cash is in short supply for this startup.

I run my 5850 Delavan with 1/2 in Blue Kuri tek hose tat I got recently from Lori at pressure Washer service. Give her a call. The hose is not expensive at all. I got 250ft. I believe it was way under $100.00 . They have got great prices. Here is their # 1-727-562-5488

I have heard the roofs in Florida are not as tall on average compared to some of the roofs further north.

If you don't have any trouble reaching the top of the roofs shooting from the edge of the gutter line you can stick with the 1/2" hose.

Like Pat said you will see and feel a considerable difference in the 5/8" hose, more flow and distance.

You can always adjust your flow with the ball valve and start to open it up a bit more as you get comfortable with your spray pattern!

Just keep in mind the higher gpm pump you go with the bigger hose you will want just because if you go up on a bigger gpm pump and keep the same size hose than why spend the money. Many years I ran the 5850 and finally went to a 5/8 hose and wised I did sooner. When I got the fatboy and used it for a while I still ran a 5/8 hose but then later went with a 3/4 hose and wised I did sooner. Now I run a yamada air pump and a 3/4 hose, pvc, ball valve and glad I do because the luv just go's further spreads faster. I do believe a bigger hose is better only if you have the proper pump pushing your gpm. Chris, Dave, Mike and many others will share that with you but also search and you will find what your looking for far as hoses and pumps.
