We cleaned this flat tile roof today 6-5-2014, and we are very happy with the results of this job in Tampa Palms. Few roofs look better, when they are clean, then a white tile roof, and few look worse, when they are dirty!
This roof cleaning job came to us from a well known Tampa Painting Company. This customer wanted to get his roof cleaned first, before he has his home painted. These folks were very very nice people, and are from one of Tampa's original founding families!
Despite our "protests" they insisted we eat the deviled crabs they make from scratch, and also served us some awesome home made Lemonaid that was good and cold. It was 95 degrees outside in Tampa today, and probably 110 degrees, up on this roof we cleaned!

Yes. please let me and everyone know how your first roof cleaning goes, and try to take pictures, so you will always have them to remind you of your first job
I am always here, if you have any questions, or are unsure of anything. It has been hot as all hell here in the Tampa area all week! It mmay be 95 outside, but as you know, it is much hotter, on a roof. Sometimes, on shingle roofs only, when it is really hot outside, we have found it useful to first wet the roof down with just water. It helps to keep the chemicals we use from evaporation so fast. The water you use to cool the roof down a bit on these hot Tampa days will not effect the ratio of your mixture at all. It will just take a few more minutes then usual for the roof cleaning process to start.
If you can start early, before Noon, you should be OK, as far as evaporation of the roof cleaning chemical goes. But, if you start the roof cleaning process after noon, I suggest you do as I have suggested. Every day next week will be over 90 degrees in the Tampa Florida area, and not only will the heat cause evaporation, it can also cause you to start dehydrating as well. Cooling down the roof will make your life easier, by preventing your exposure to the intense heat.
Here is the weather forecast for the Tampa Florida area for the next 10 days
We have been cleaning roofs here in the Tampa area for over 20 years, and know all about dehydration. We found out about it the hard way once. Now, we force ourselves to drink a big bottle of water in our trucks every morning, when we are on our way to cleaning a roof.
The trick to prevent dehydration of our guys is to drink water before we get thirsty, and before we start to clean our first roof of the day.
